Austrian newspaper Österreich is reporting in this article, that QUEEN have split unexpectedly with lead singer PAUL RODGERS.
Supposedly the concert in Rio de Janeiro last Saturday was the last one of Queen + Paul Rodgers. The article also says that Queen's last album The Cosmos Rocks sold only 12,000 copies in the USA and was a major disappointment and that all US dates for 2009 have been cancelled.
As previously reported here by Billboard.biz, KISS' GENE SIMMONS hinted at a possible tour with Queen. "KISS and Queen, that would be a smash," he remarked. "That would kill. So far (it's) 50/50."
Simmons later seemed baffled by the rumours.
"Oh, I've heard that, but we don't know until it's real. I would be happy to step up on that stage. I'd (also) love to step up on a stage with the (ROLLING) STONES."
Stay tuned for further updates on the Queen situation.
