Cleveland native Bill Taylor formed the B.E. TAYLOR GROUP with the former CRACK THE SKY trio of guitarist Rick Witkowski, bassist Joe Macre and drummer Joey D'Amico and the outfit's debut album, 'Innermission', was co-produced by Mark Avsec and Donnie Iris, both of DONNIE IRIS AND THE CRUISERS fame. The duo also contributed backing vocals.

The 'Love Won The Fight' album found Joe Macre and Rick Witkowski behind the desk as well as in the studio. 1986's 'Our World' surfaced on Epic and was produced by Rick Witkowski with new bassist Jim Spears in tow. Ex-TREASURE vocalist Felix Cavaliere sings back up on 'Beautiful Day'. Taylor opted to split the group after the release of 'Our World' in order to re-launch himself as a Christian artist recording demos and gaining a slot on a Pittsburgh radio station's promotional sampler.

The remaining members of the B.E. TAYLOR GROUP formed SQUARE ONE, before line-up changes prompted a change of title to SQUARE TWO! This group was to be put on ice as Witkowski and D'Amico reunited with John Palumbo in a reformation of CRACK THE SKY before putting CHA CHA CHA together with bassist / vocalist Carey Zeigler to record an unreleased album.

Hooking up with Palumbo in CRACK THE SKY again, Witkowski and D'Amico participated in the recording of 'Dog City' and 'From The Greenhouse' for the Grudge label.

Bill Taylor was a native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, with his music being very popular in the Pittsburgh area.
His band did include three ex members of Crack The Sky ;Witkowski, Macre and D'Amico.
The music is infectious pop rock, occasionally quirky, particularly debut, and when you hear its was produced by Donnie Iris and Mark Avsec, it makes sense.
"Quirky" does not mean "bad", just a slight variation on a theme, something Iris and Avsec were good at with The Cruisers, and latterly Avsecs, Cellar Full Of Noise.
Taylors following albums were more straight ahead aor/pop rock, something which will make the purists happy.
Two songs did make Billboard top 100 ; "Karen" and "Vitamin L".
"Our World" was the last "group" album, with Bill releasing 2 or 3 solo albums, but this time as a Christian artist.
None of the B.E. Taylor Groups albums have ever been officially released on CD, but there was a bootleg of "Our World", originating in Japan. Time to redress the balance!

Hey caido, la reedicion a la que te refieres es esa con dos bonus tracks? creo que son reediciones propias alemanas, osea que no son oficiales, algo asi como hicieron con Stan Bush & Barrage, Witness, Femme Fatale, China Sky y varios mas, aun asi no tienen nada malo, el sonido es bueno y la calidad del papel tambien, lo unico que no es official o eso creo, una tonteria porque las de Krescendo lo son y mira que chapuza

Nada, gracias tio. Creo que es la reedición con dos temas extras. De todas formas de los enlaces que han puesto me gusta el primero, el resto me parece super empalagoso. Saludos.

Tengo la edicción original, un disco de gran calidad y muy original, en todos los aspectos, empezando por la portada.

Yo me pillare esa edicion caido, y ya te comento como esta el disco, seguramente sea como Eddie Money, Gregg Rolie, Billy Satellite... a ese estilo

Lo reedita próximamente Yesterrock.

Yo lo tengo en vinilo desde que salió, !ya ha llovido!!. Y tengo otro que ahora desconozco el título que no le llegaba a este ni a la altura de los mocasines, pero no recuerdo ni a que sonaba. Así que a ver si le pego una escucha esta noche y comento.

Diskiguo con 3 buenos temas y el resto al cubo de la heroina caducada...
